Jeffrey Marc Edelson has extraordinary talents beyond the "Doc
Edelson" title and veterinary practice many of us know him for.
Born on
March 19, 1948, Jeff grew up in rural Lancaster County,
Pennsylvania. As a child and then as a young man,
Jeff was entranced by horses: riding, competitive
showing, and ultimately medically caring for them.
When not with the horses, Jeff spent many a youthful
hours at his father's steel plant where he was
fascinated with learning the metal's characteristics.
He studied at the University of Pennsylvania
Veterinary School, graduating in 1974, when he founded
what is now the busy Edelson Equine Associates.
The medical team works out of his family compound near
Lancaster, PA. Over the years, Jeff became
increasingly more specialized in the intense fertility
and reproductive side of the practice. Now he is
celebrated as a specialist.

Many years ago Jeff rediscovered a childhood interest
and began creating sculptures in steel with an equine
theme and founded "Equine Creations." So when not consumed with his medical
practice, he honors this animal in steel that has so
dominated his life. The sculpture pieces are
exclusively offered in signed and numbered limited
editions. His current projects include
free-standing pieces on bases and two-dimensional steel
bases for glass-top tables. One critic has
described the work as simply handsome - yet excitingly
unique. |
